Sydney Armstrong as Rona Lisa Perretti
Senior Sydney Armstrong has appeared on the Poplar Pike Playhouse stage as Penny Pingleton in Hairspray, Sophia Zubritsky in Fools and Glinda in The Wiz. She earned featured roles in the original children’s plays The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty and Aladdin’s Lamp Gets Stolen. Sydney’s other Playhouse performance credits include the Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisational Workshop, Commedia dell’ Arte, the English Lovers Improvisational Workshop and The Great Motion Experiment. Her offstage roles include make-up crew for Hairspray and The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild. Sydney was a playwright for the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty. She is president of Thespian Troupe #912 and Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Kaylynn Coulter as Logainne Schwartzandgrubenniere
Senior Kaylynn Coulter appeared on the Poplar Pike Playhouse mainstage as a council mother in Hairspray. Kaylynn’s other performance credits include the Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisational Workshop, Commedia dell’ Arte and 5x10: A 10 Minute Play Festival. She is a box office manager for the PPP, a role she also held for the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty. She was a member of the costume crews for Hairspray and Fools, house manager for Fools and a patron caller for Into the Woods and Changing Minds. Kaylynn is special events officer for Thespian Troupe #912.
Maclean Mayers as William Barfee
Senior Maclean Mayers has appeared on the Poplar Pike Playhouse stage as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, Dr. Zubritsky in Fools and the Lion in The Wiz. Maclean also has performed in the Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisation Workshop, Commedia dell’ Arte, the English Lovers Improvisation Workshop, the original children’s play Aladdin’s Lamp Gets Stolen and The Great Motion Experiment. He is a publicity director for the PPP, recording secretary of Thespian Troupe #912 and a member of Chamber Choir. Maclean won Best Actor in a Lead Role at the 2014 Orpheum High School Musical Theatre Awards for his performance in Hairspray and competed in that year’s National High School Musical Theatre Awards.
Raneem Imam as Olive Ostrovsky
Junior Raneem Imam’s past Poplar Pike Playhouse roles have included Humpty Dumpty in the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty, Tammy in Hairspray and a Pit Singer in The Wiz. Raneem was a member of the ensemble in Fools and participated in Commedia dell’ Arte and the English Lovers Improvisation Workshop. She serves the PPP as tour coordinator, assistant coupon book chairman and assistant proofreading chairman. Raneem is second vice president of Thespian Troupe #912.
Ben Taylor as Chip Tolentino
Senior Ben Taylor has been featured on the Poplar Pike Playhouse stage as Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray, the Magistrate in Fools, Steward in Into the Woods and in the ensembles of The Wiz, The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild and Changing Minds. Ben’s other performance credits include the Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisation Workshop, the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty, Commedia dell’ Arte, the English Lovers Improvisation Workshop, The Great Motion Experiment and Starfish Circus. He was a typesetter for Hairspray and the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty and a playwright for the original children’s play Aladdin’s Lamp Gets Stolen. Ben is 1st vice president of Thespian Troupe #912 and a member of the Tennessee State Thespian Conference Executive Board.
Daniel Jaramillo as Leaf Coneybear
Senior Daniel Jaramillo appeared on the Poplar Pike Playhouse stage as Master Fuzzy in the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty, Sketch in Hairspray and in the ensemble of The Wiz. Daniel also performed in the Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisation Workshop, Commedia dell’ Arte, the English Lovers Improvisation Workshop and The Great Motion Experiment. He served on the video crew for The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild and is a special events officer for Thespian Troupe #912.
Haylay Bardos as Marcy Park
Junior Hayley Bardos’ onstage roles at the Poplar Pike Playhouse include Shelley in Hairspray and a field mouse in The Wiz. Hayley also performed in the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty, the Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisational Workshop and Commedia dell’ Arte. She serves the PPP as a publicity director and the advertising director. Hayley was a member of the publicity and advertising crews for Hairspray and assistant house manager for Fools. She is a recipient of the Seth Matthew Rowan Sophomore Achievement Award. Hayley is corresponding secretary of Thespian Troupe #912.
Arafat Quran as Vice Principal Douglas Panch
Senior Arafat Quran has been seen on the Poplar Pike Playhouse stage as the Guard in Hairspray, Handy in the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty and the Yellow Brick Road in The Wiz. Arafat’s other performance credits include the Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisation Workshop and the English Lovers Improvisation Workshop. He is a company manager and webmaster for the PPP. Arafat served on the set construction crews for Hairspray, Fools, The Wiz and The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild, and ushered for Into the Woods and Changing Minds. He also is a member of Thespian Troupe #912.
Kennedy Harris as Mitch Mahoney
Sophomore Kennedy Harris earned his first onstage role at the Poplar Pike Playhouse as Stooie in Hairspray. Kennedy is the assistant business office manager for the PPP and participated in the theatre’s activities during the 2014 Germantown Festival.
Jackie Kamin as a PTA Volunteer
Junior Jackie Kamin has been seen on the Poplar Pike Playhouse stage as Prudy Pingleton in Hairspray, Queen Midas in the original children’s play The Untold Story of Humpty Dumpty and in the ensembles of Fools and The Wiz. Jackie’s other PPP stage credits include the Upright Citizens Brigade Improvisation Workshop, 5x10: A 10 Minute Play Festival, Commedia dell’ Arte, the English Lovers Improvisation Workshop and The Great Motion Experiment. She is a photographer for the PPP, historian of Thespian Troupe #912 and a recipient of the Intro to Theatre Student of the Year Award.
